It appears the SEIU is up to its old tricks. Impatient with the President’s inability to ram through the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), a.k.a. card check, the SEIU is once again taking to the streets. This time outside a prestigious retail and office building in Los Angeles and utilizing its infamous “corporate campaign” mode to protect membership dues amid declining membership in California and other areas, the SEIU protested against the firing of 16 janitors at the adjacent Century Plaza building, a building owned by J.P. Morgan Chase.
However, it is doubtful the demonstration was an altruistic act to protect employee jobs, but rather the act of a union desperate to preserve revenues through its normal thuggish tactics of public pressure, misrepresentation and dissemination of misinformation. The SEIU subscribes to Saul Alinsky’s belief that “ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” When you break down the facts, the SEIU is using this approach to intimidate JP Morgan into reversing the employee layoffs and preparing for an active year of recognition campaigns against businesses.
The SEIU would have you believe the janitors laid off are employees of JP Morgan (misrepresentation), a company that received $ 95 million in federal bailout money (misinformation). Additionally, they want you to think the company has taken these taxpayer dollars and used them for the benefit of their most wealthy executives while firing the least fortunate and that they deserve to be keelhauled in front of the public (ridicule). The truth is the janitors work for American Building Maintenance (ABM), not for JP Morgan Chase. JP Morgan received $25 million in bailout money which has reportedly been repaid to the U.S. government. Finally, according to the articles below, JP Morgan was never approached by the SEIU to sit down and discuss the matter privately and professionally. These are the patented storm trooper tactics the SEIU employed against EMS as described in my book The Devil at My Doorstep. www.thedevilatmydoorstep.com
We all have empathy for people losing jobs, especially in today’s economy. However, is it logical to believe jobs were the reason for the SEIU’s actions? If it was, they would have approached the situation from a logical business perspective. Did the SEIU ever consider the layoffs, as unfortunate as they are, saved the jobs of the remaining employees, or if they approached ABM with an opportunity to renegotiate the contract, jobs may have been saved? It is doubtful the SEIU’s business model ever allowed them to consider these possibilities, nor will they ever. Instead their belief in redistribution of wealth allows them to view this through a different prism, the prism of social justice. It believes that JP Morgan should use its money, which actually belongs to its customers and shareholders, to keep these people employed. The SEIU is merely using social justice as a cover for its own greed for power and money and to mask its inability to compete on a professional basis.
Also, the embattled SEIU recently reached a settlement with rival union Unite Here (SEIU Watch) so it can place more resources towards a battle with another rival union NUHW, where an election for Kaiser employees has been set for September. The incumbent SEIU stands to lose 43,000 members and roughly $42 million dollars in dues in this ugly representation fight! There is no doubt the SEIU is ramping up for a significant increase in corporate campaigns in case card check is not rammed through during the lame duck session of congress after the November elections!
Maybe they should spend more time getting their own house in order and convincing a President they helped elect (approximately $60 million dollars in campaign contributions) to pass initiatives that would encourage job growth instead of job stagnation! Seems to me if the SEIU spent less on politics they could afford to hire the people laid off at Century City. Do the math, but from an SEIU perspective it would most likely be viewed as the wrong redistribution of wealth since it is their money. Wait a minute isn’t it the union members’ money?

Rarely is a book so timely, accurate in assessing the dangers, and succinct in its message, so as to provide its readers the necessary information and direction to change the course of history and save their beloved country. Sound far fetched? It is not!
In Obamanutz, author Joy Tiz, a native Chicagoan with a Masters degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Law, understands all too well the Chicago machine that was foisted upon the American Public under the guise of Barack Obama in the 2008 election. Her latest book gets to the heart and soul of the man and the machine behind him and why it could be the ruin of America. She looks at the events that allowed the American people to become captivated with a man who, though intelligent and eloquent, is ill-prepared and unqualified to be the President of the United States, a country he learned to despise from his anti-American relationships and upbringing that taught him the American way of life is wrong!
“America did not elect a new president on November 4th, 2008 – America enabled a cult leader to take over the White House. A man with no executive experience, deeply disturbing associations and gaping holes in his history was elevated to the highest office in the land – not based on merit, but simply by the force of mass movement.”
Ms. Tiz closely examines the President’s rise to power as a Cult Leader with the support of the mainstream media, unions like the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), special interest groups such as ACORN and radical groups funded by the likes of George Soros and the Ford Foundation. She depicts how the President’s charisma captured the hearts and souls of many Americans discontent with the status quo of the time and how his message was aimed at vulnerable audiences, much like the SEIU did when it targeted certain more vulnerable employees in the organizational campaign against my company. The unions are masters of this technique, and it is no wonder the Obama machine used the same methods, since the President himself has admitted he was once part of the SEIU organizing effort!
“Recall from Hoffer’s work that a population vulnerable to take over is one that is discontent. If things are not really so bad, it’s the cult leaders job to convince you they are far worse than you could ever know.”
Obamanutz exposes the strategies the President and his supporters learned through their long association with radicals like Saul Alinsky and with union organizers. The parallels between the SEIU’s corporate campaign against my company and the Presidents’ election campaign and political agenda are unmistakable. Despite his claims of being bipartisan and a unifier, his game plan and objectives are quite the opposite. Much like the unions and liberal left, Obama employs the age old technique of “divide and conquer!”
“Liberals relish assigning humans to groups which they then anoint with special victim status for the purpose of being used in their destructive power schemes.
“Race and class warfare are liberal contrivances. As Obama and the Pelosi/Reid cabal attempt to ram socialism down the collective American throat, note the anti-success, anti-capitalist bombast. Obama would have you believe that successful people can only achieve success by plundering the less prosperous. This is the grand deception upon which all forms of collectivism balance.”
“Misfits are often the first to be attracted to a mass movement. The radical left always tries to win over the least productive among us with promise of government freebies.”
Joy exposes the truth behind this administration’s agenda, which, like that of many of today’s unions, is merely to perpetuate their own existence as well as their thirst for power and money. They would like you to believe their goals are altruistic when in reality they are self serving to meet their own twisted objectives.
“Radicals don’t become radical because they have laudable goals to help their fellow man. They become radicals because they have various forms of mental disorders that lend themselves to acting out. In other words, for the majority of radical extremists, the means justify the ends.”
Ms. Tiz also provides insight as to how the country can survive and what may be expected of our current leader if his initiatives continue to fail or are rejected. Her advice is to directly challenge the administration, beat it at its own game and reach out to all people, not just the loyal conservatives.
“Directly challenging the true believer makes him dig his heels in deeper. The one truth about cults or mass movements is that the outcome depends on the character of the leader. They often end badly.”
“Tyrants and messiahs never take responsibility for the damage they do. When a messianic leader is faced with failure, his tendency is to castigate the people or his political opposition, or the media as evil and to continue on unmoved and bring his country down with him.”
Joy captures the essence of our current leader and state of affairs in the United States. I strongly encourage you to buy this book now, and make sure everyone you know is aware of it and reads it before the November 2010 elections. It just may be the last chance to save our country from the road to destruction.
I learned about the goals and techniques of the radical socialist agenda through hard knocks from the SEIU’s Corporate Campaign against my company. Joy nails it. You can learn from her, without experiencing my pain, in this incisive book which is a must-read for every American. Please read more at www.joytiz.com!
The labor unions continue to mount efforts to push EFCA through Congress against the will of the people. We have all seen what forced unionism has done to the public sector, especially in union-friendly political states like Michigan, New York, Illinois and California. Those of us living in Indiana have benefited from a political climate that has been willing to fight to keep public unions from decimating our state budget and economy. States like California, however, now face bankruptcy due to the infiltration of insidious unions (like the union I fought, the SEIU) into public sector jobs. However, there is a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. There are now grass root groups standing up to challenge the public unions, and they need our help.
I have had the opportunity to work with one such group, the Citizen Power Campaign.
http://unplugthepoliticalmachine.org/main.php
The Citizen Power Campaign is mounting a drive to elect officials who will reverse the trend in California. Ultimately, this will be beneficial for all of us. Reducing the size of public sector unions will also help reduce private sector attacks, since unions finance such actions through public sector dues! Please read the attached information, visit their website and consider a generous donation to fight for a worthy cause!

The Citizen Power Campaign also has a community site where like-minded activists on this issue exchange information.

Since Senator Evan Bayh announced his retirement from the U.S. Senate, his support of big labor’s agenda has become more apparent. First, he supported the Obama administration’s appointment of radical member Craig Becker to the National Labor Relations Board, the government agency governing most labor relations matters. Now Bayh has publicly come out in support of the Employee Free Choice Act (“EFCA” also known as “Card Check”), legislation which will deny workers the right to vote through a private ballot election, and which will lead to massive abuse and intimidation of workers by union organizers.
Bayh has taken this action despite assurances he previously made in personal meetings with Indiana businessmen that he would carefully consider the impact passage of EFCA would have on the economy, the business community and its employees, and resultant job loss. See the attached e-mail from Senator Bayh dated 8/11/2010, and compare it to the attached e-mail from 9/24/2007.
It appears he has decided to support his financial backers, which begs the question “If Bayh has removed himself from politics, why the sudden public support for EFCA?” Especially when most Americans believe unions mostly hurt the economy (see article below).
http://lrionline.com/elections-report
Could it be that he expects a lame duck vote in congress on EFCA after the November elections, or a rule change in the Senate to circumvent filibusters, despite his representations that EFCA will not come up this year. Please read following article!
http://lrionline.com/efca-update-13
Possibly he is preparing for a political run as Governor of Indiana, or for the White House in 2012, and is lining up financial support from his buddies. Maybe like White House favorite Andy Stern (former President of the Service Employees International Union), he is just preparing for a job behind the scenes with the current Administration. Whatever the reason, it appears political favor means more to him than the businesses and employees of this great country and his home State of Indiana. There is no credible evidence to support his statements in the 8/11/2010 e-mail that current NLRB law is broken. To the contrary, labor unions currently win about 64% of elections.
This is just another example of the dark side of politics and the need to have people in office with the best interest of all Americans in mind and not just the special interest groups that support them! Please contact Senator Bayh and tell him your feelings about Card Check and how it will it cost millions of American jobs!
Although Illegal Immigration and the related Misclassification of Workers are tough issues, they can be addressed and rectified to eliminate the tragic impact they have on all Americans and politics in this country! We must embrace practical solutions to assist all Americans to move forward and reduce the strain on government social programs and budgets! We can no longer tolerate the fact that we have those among us who are not legal residents. However, America must provide a firm but compassionate means of resolving a problem that has simmered much to long — a problem that has been exploited along racial, social and political lines for personal gain that should not be tolerated. Provided below are some bullet points on cause and effect, as well as potential remedies for this cancer that plagues America in many diverse ways. If these bullet points stimulate your interest, I encourage you to review the attached PowerPoint, which I have presented to many business groups across Indiana in the past two years. It provides a more in-depth review of the causes, effects and remedies for the Illegal Immigration Dilemma!
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION POWERPOINT
Cause and Effect:
1.) The United States government has caused the current crisis by failing to enforce its own laws and thereby allowing illegal immigrants access to certain “entitlements,” such as welfare, free/cheap health care, and free education. We do not need to erect walls or pass new laws to slow the desire for people to migrate across our borders. Rather, the government needs to show its intention to enforce the current laws.
2.) The current problem is one of supply and demand. The United States provides opportunities unavailable in underdeveloped nations, and those countries have a supply of persons seeking to avail themselves of such opportunities.
3.) Illegal immigration hurts American employees, American businesses and the United States Government. It artificially drives down wages for legal Americans, creates unlevel playing fields due to businesses who circumvent the law, drives up costs for government programs (which adds to deficits), requires tax increases to cover additional costs, increases crime and drug trafficking, encourages misclassification of workers (which reduces government tax revenues), strains social systems, and skews the political system.
4.) This is not a social issue; it is a political issue. The number of potential voters could adversely skew the political landscape for generations. Many politicians use this issue for the personal selfish interest of remaining in office instead of doing what is right for the American people! The President and many politicians are disingenuously using this as a social issue when it is no more than ploy to lure millions of voters for personal gain.
5.) Illegals are taken advantage of and live in constant fear of being discovered!
6.) Supporting illegal immigration encourages corruption of our current laws and legislative process. The current Administration, just as it is doing with its labor law initiatives, is attempting to bypass the legislative process and re-write regulations to allow amnesty for current illegal immigrants for political and agenda purposes!
7.) This issue is being utilized to politically divide this country through race discrimination tactics. The truth is everyone, irrespective of race, national origin, religion or gender, needs to adhere to our laws and be a citizen of the United States of America to enjoy its benefits.
8.) The lack of secure borders jeopardizes the security of our great nation in the face of modern day terrorism.
Potential Remedies:
1.) Even if United States enforcement agencies could locate them, the United States cannot afford to deport 12-14 million people! Mass deportation is not an option.
2.) To the extent the decision is made to secure our borders, that job should be left to the American Military.
3.) Most people present illegally in the United States are good people and good workers looking for nothing more than their American Dream. They deserve a chance to become Americans. However, they must go through a rigorous process that assures they are eligible to become citizens, and the government enforcement agencies must be willing to enforce this requirement! This process must be streamlined and approval reduced to a reasonable time period.
4.) In the interim, illegal aliens present in the United States must be required to register for work visas and adhere to federal, state and local laws. Furthermore, they should be held as ineligible for government-provided entitlements, such as welfare, health care and education, until they become citizens.
5.) Federal, State and local laws with respect to immigration and hiring need to be enforced! This issue is being utilized to politically divide this country through race discrimination tactics. The truth is everyone irrespective of race, national origin, religion or gender needs to adhere to our laws and be a citizen of the United States of America to enjoy its benefits.
The plethora of attached articles addresses the breadth and divisiveness of illegal immigration and its negative effect on America! Please urge your representatives to quit using this as a political platform. Remember, we are a nation of laws! The laws and tools to enforce the laws are available to resolve this issue. The question is: Do we have the will, or are we too politically correct?
